Unforgettable experience with photo safari by jeep through Gorski kotar – 4 days

Bear, wolf and lynx are three protected species of large animals and residents of national parks and nature parks of Croatia. The closest national park to Karlovac is the Plitvice Lakes, far away only 40 minutes drive. But there is also Gorski Kotar and Risnjak National Park.

However, it is possible to meet bears, wolves and lynx outside these borders, that is, in other parts of Lijepa naše. Croatia abounds in wilderness, preserved nature and biodiversity, and therefore, in addition to large animals, we can also see red deer, roe deer, mouflon, chamois, wild boar, fox, jackal…

Also, our country is rich in water, an abundance of rivers, and therefore marshes, which are the greatest source of flora and fauna. Therefore, Croatia can boast of a large number of ornithological reserves that are ideal for bird watching.

The offer includes: accommodation and half-board in the hotel Risnjak/Volta, driving in professional 4×4 vehicles, photo-safari + guide, 2nd and 3rd day gablec with traditional local dishes in the forest on a stump, taking pictures/recording with GO-PRO cameras.

Activity

Day 1Arrival at Hotel Risnjak / Fužine, Volta Restaurant, lunch at 1pm

Immediately after lunch, we set off on an adventure drive in an SUV through the Risnjak Nature Park to the source of the Kupa. Which springs from under the rock through two siphons into a lake with a diameter of about thirty meters, from where it forms the longest Croatian river of 296 km.

Day 2After breakfast we set off on a whole day of 4 × 4 photo safari to the Bukovača hunting ground.

Gorski Kotar is the green heart of Croatia, which is rich in plant and animal diversity, it is the habitat of three big beasts – bear, wolf and lynx, which is unique for this part of Europe. Of the big game, we can still see the king of the forest, which is the red deer, its smaller derivative the roe deer, and the wild boar. A hunting gablec on a tree stump is provided during the tour.
