Last Saturday, October 16, a chestnut fair was held in Ribnik in Karlovac County with over 1,000 visitors.
Organized by the agency Croatia Open Land DMC Tours from Karlovac, and the partners of the Municipality of Ribnik and Laga Vallis Colapis, the all-day event took place for the first time in the center of the Municipality of Ribnik – in the castle that is the symbol of this small municipality near the border with Slovenia.
The program started in the morning, sports events in the form of the Olympiad of ancient sports and an archery tournament entertained the older and younger audience throughout the day. At the same time, a dozen local OPGs offered their products, and some of them already sold out their products around noon. In the same place, within the walls of the Old Town of Ribnik, chestnuts were roasted and sold at a promotional price, and you could also taste the local beer of the local craft brewery in Karlovac.
At the Laga Vallis Colapis lecture, the local OPGs were introduced to current tenders and the possibilities of co-financing projects in various amounts, and currently the most about grants in the amount of up to 50,000 euros.
Stari Kostenjari, the Karlovac tambourine orchestra and the Begini band played various hits throughout the day of the event and entertained the gathered crowd of guests. A larger number of guests were recorded from Zagreb, the Karlovac area, and neighboring Slovenia.
The organizers are satisfied with the event, and in short speeches they thanked everyone for their support, large visit and successful event in Ribnik. The event was held in accordance with epidemiological measures.
